Healing Update

Patti is still on the mend. She has had to return to Cleveland twice. Once for another bronchoscopy and then just this past weekend for a minor surgery to fix a stitch and two wires in her chest. She is back home again and on the mend. Things are doing very well still.

The one slight discouragement that Patti is dealing with is diabetes. She did not have diabetes before the transplants, but for some reason her body has stopped producing insulin so she has to monitor her sugar levels and take insulin for it. Patti says she thinks she can live with that, because that is much better than not being able to breathe. I think I agree with her there.

I believe she is still recovering much faster than her doctors can comprehend.

:-) That's our girl!

Thank you all again for your continued prayers and praises!

News from Patti

The latest news from Patti is GREAT!

I got a call yesterday from Joan and the message, "LISTEN!" As Joan held the phone out I could hear Patti playing her flute in the background! Praise the Lord!

I also got the messages that the following "milestones" have happened:
1. On March 4, Patti gave Brady a bath by herself!
2. On March 5, Patti made dinner for her family by herself!
3. On March 7 (as previously noted), Patti played her flute!

The results from Patti's blood work from Monday came in and all is good with them. Her instructions are to keep doing the same thing for now. One more medication has been reduced.

The bronchoscopy which was supposed to be scheduled for March 13, has been moved to March 20, so Patti will have one more week at home before she has to return to Cleveland for that procedure.

And... yesterday Joan and Patti and Brady went out to the bank and the mall (I think) and to WalMart. Guess who was EXHAUSTED by the time they got home! BRADY, not Patti! HA!

Praise the Lord! and AMEN!

P.S. I'm still waiting on new "at home" pictures to publish. I will as soon as I get them.

HOME on March 2, 2007 -- Sorry for the delay...

Patti is HOME! Sorry for the delay in keeping everyone informed. It was a busy weekend.

Patti was released by the doctors to leave Cleveland around noon on Friday, March 2, 2007. So we quickly ate lunch, packed what was left to be packed and got out of "Dodge" before they could change their minds! I got her home around 9:30 pm Friday night.

She had to have more bloodwork done yesterday (Monday, March 5, 2007), but I don't have the results form that at this time.

I guess the main website page is having problems, so please note that this website can be reached by going to http://www.princepack.blogspot.com/

Praise the Lord, and thank the PUSHers.

(P.S. Patti has to return to Cleveland for another bronchoscopy on March 13, 2007 but it is outpatient surgery and she will only have to be out there for a day or two.)

Getting better, but we are still in Cleveland

OK. Patti's blood work was better today, but she still has one more day to go for blood work (tomorrow 3/2/07).

Dr. Budev at this moment is saying she can't go home until Monday, but that is just not acceptable to Patti. She is arguing the point that they aren't going to do any blood work or anything else this weekend anyway, so why can't she go home? She claims (and it is true) that she can have blood work done back home and if Dr. Budev really wants her to see a hemotologist, she can see one of them back home too. Especially since everything else is so GOOD!

So, to kill time we went to CiCi's all you can eat pasta and pizza buffet for dinner, then to Cold Stone Icecream for dessert (Patti had a sorbet and I had icecream). Then on over to KMart for a while. We were just killing time. Patti would much rather be home with Muff and Brady -- just home.

Cross fingers and pray that Patti has wonderful blood work in the morning AND that she is able to convince Dr. Budev that she will really be better off at home.

Thanks PUSHers!
