Believe
Patti spent the weekend before Christmas with family and friends in the Tompkins County area. We were all very happy to see her and Nate and Brady. Thank you God for the opportunity for Patti to be home for Christmas 2006.
Now, on with updates.
Here is a picture of Patti on Christmas day. I think we can all agree with her.
Patti still has her good days and not so good days. She has been on antibiotics and will probably continue with a couple weeks on and a couple weeks off the antibiotics just to keep infections away. She is definitely enjoying her time with Brady. Her mom, Joan, is living with them right now to take care of Brady and Patti until the time comes and we all head for Cleveland. She is still number 1 on the list in Cleveland for the double lung transplant, but we still have to wait for a donor that has all three organs (both lungs AND liver). Please continue your prayers for Patti, her immediate family, and for the donor and their family because they will be losing a loved one as we are gaining our loved one.
Proverbs 19:21 from The Message Bible states: "We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God's purpose prevails."
When I read the above verse this morning in my Daily Devoational I thought of Patti. Like all of us she keeps right on planning and scheduling things to do knowing that God's purpose (and His plans) will take precedence when the time comes for the transplants. I completely admire her for the determination and will to live that she has to be able to go on with her life while continuing the wait. She still thinks of Brady first in everything she does.
Here is my message to Patti. The Lord told Moses to tell Aaron and his sons to bless the Israelites this way and I believe He is telling me to bless Patti in the same way. From Numbers 6: 24 - 26:
"The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."
We just need to remember that things happen in God's time, not ours and to continue to Believe.
