I know it has been a while since I updated this site. I have been trying to figure out how to say what I need to say in a positive way.
Patti had her doctor's appointment in Cleveland on September 8 and the news is not great. First of all they wanted to admit her to the hospital because she has been running fevers and such, but Patti didn't want that. We all know that she wants to be home with Brady and Muff as much as possible and I believe she is feeling a bit afraid of leaving them for an extended period of time which is exactly what is going to happen when she gets the transplants. I understand and my prayers for courage and strength are with you, Patti.
Then the doctor told Patti that if she doesn't get the transplants soon she will be taken off the list -- she won't be healthy enough to remain on the list. If this happens there will be no hope of recovery which makes us all sad and fearful.
So. What is next? Well, we wait....
Here are the current circumstances:
- Patti is at home at this time.
- Muff and Patti's friend, Mary has been HIRED as a nanny for Brady (I'm thinking she is helping to take care of Patti too.
- Brady is scheduled to get his prosthetic eye on Monday, September 18. Remember this is the reason Patti wanted us to pray for AFTER that day. AND... Patti has been given permission from the doctors in Cleveland to go to this appointment, but to take everything she needs with her for the transplants ESPECIALLY her cell phone for that "just-in-case" call.
What is needed? PUSHers! Keep Praying Until Something Happens people!
- Pray for Patti to remain strong and courageous.
- Pray for the appointment with Brady to go well.
- Pray for the donor and their family -- that they already have decided to be a donor and talked to their family about it, that the family has the courage to carry through with it after the person passes away, that the donor be taken to heaven on angel's wings and comforted, that the family receives comfort and healing through their difficult time of loss.
- Pray for Muff to remain strong and courageous through this difficult time -- for right decisions on Patti's behalf, because there is going to be a period of time that Patti will not be able to make the decisions they have made together for the past several years.
- Pray for Joan, Patti's mom, to remain strong and courageous as she prepares to and ultimately takes care of Patti after the transplants.
- Pray for Dale and Gina, Muff's parents, to remain strong and courageous to stand by Muff.
- And finally, pray for all of YOU / US / each other as we all play our roles in Patti's, Muff's, Brady's, and each other's lives through this.
Finally, I just want to thank everyone for their prayers and contributions to this cause. Where is Jesus? He is right here!
